Free bath fizzies on orders $100+. Celebrate International Women’s Day with our woman-founded Vancouver natural skincare brand and handmade soap.
Every year on March 8th, the world celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day recognizing the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a moment to reflect on the women who build businesses, support families, create communities, and bring meaningful work into the world.
For women-owned businesses, International Women’s Day carries a special significance. It is a reminder of the generations of women who pushed for opportunities, independence, and the ability to create and lead businesses of their own.
At Nurture With Nature, a woman-founded natural skincare brand in Vancouver, that history feels especially close to home.
The History of International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day dates back to the early 1900s, when women across North America and Europe began organizing for fair wages, better working conditions, and voting rights.
The first official International Women’s Day was celebrated in 1911, with over a million people attending rallies and events across several countries. Over time, the day evolved into a worldwide celebration of women’s achievements while continuing to advocate for equality and opportunity.
Today, International Women’s Day is observed globally as a celebration of women who lead, nurture, create, and build.
From entrepreneurs and artists to teachers, mothers, scientists, and makers, women contribute to every part of society in meaningful ways.
A Woman-Founded Natural Skincare Brand
Nurture With Nature was founded by Sheila in 1994, long before natural skincare and handmade soap became widely popular.
What began as a passion for creating gentle, plant-based skincare grew into a small business built on craftsmanship, patience, and respect for traditional methods.
Each batch of soap is still made by hand in our Gastown studio in Vancouver, using carefully selected plant oils, botanicals, and essential oils.
Unlike mass-produced soap, handmade cold-process soap requires time. Every bar cures slowly over several weeks, allowing the soap to harden naturally and become milder on the skin.
This slower process reflects the philosophy behind everything we make.
We believe skincare should be simple, natural, and made with intention.
Why Supporting Women-Owned Businesses Matters
When you support women-owned brands, you help strengthen local communities, encourage entrepreneurship, and support the craft and care that small businesses bring to their products.
Many women-founded businesses begin with a simple idea: creating something meaningful that people can use in their everyday lives.
For us, that idea was natural skincare made with integrity.
For over 30 years, that same intention has guided every product we create.
A Small Gift for International Women’s Day
To celebrate International Women’s Day and thank the community that continues to support this woman-founded business, we are offering a small gift.
For a limited time, all orders over $100 will receive a free bath fizzy.
Our Zea Zizzlers bath fizzies are designed to transform an ordinary bath into a calming ritual. As they dissolve, natural essential oils release gentle aromas that help create a quiet moment to slow down and relax.
Sometimes self-care doesn’t need to be complicated.
A warm bath, a natural scent, and a few quiet minutes can be enough.
Celebrating Women Today and Every Day
International Women’s Day is ultimately about recognition.
Recognition for the women who came before us, the women building businesses today, and the women who will continue to shape the future.
We are grateful to be part of a community that values craftsmanship, natural ingredients, and thoughtful products made with care.
And we are especially grateful for everyone who chooses to support women-owned businesses and handmade skincare brands like Nurture With Nature.
Happy International Women’s Day.
